Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is recognized as the best seaside park in the world. Their vibrant, bustling amusement park is renowned for its great rides, remarkable history, spectacular beach setting, and friendly attitude. Many people visit just for the food. Choices include corn dogs made from a secret family recipe, deep fried artichokes, chocolate covered bacon, and deep fried Twinkies! The Boardwalk spans a wide sandy beach along Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary where it's not unusual to see otters, dolphins, sea lions, and even whales swimming just offshore.
Winchester Mystery House
The Winchester Mystery House is the beautiful but bizarre mansion of Sarah Winchester, heiress of the Winchester Repeating Arms fortune. Construction began in 1884, and allegedly didn't stop for 38 years. Haunted by the spirits of Winchester rifle victims, Mrs. Winchester built the Victorian mansion with many odd and mysterious features. The Winchester Mystery House is an architectural wonder and historic landmark in San Jose, CA. Daily guided tours are available at the estate.
The Mystery Spot
The Mystery Spot is a gravitational anomaly located in the redwood forests just outside of Santa Cruz, California. It is a circular area of effect around 150 feet or 46 meters in diameter. Within the Mystery Spot you will be stunned as your perceptions of the laws of physics and gravity are questioned!
Municipal Rose Garden
Rolling green lawns and colorful showy blooms highlight the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, named "America's Best Rose Garden." Hardly a day passes when some species is not in full bloom, with more than 3,500 plantings and 189 varieties featured. San Jose's 5 1/2–acre Municipal Rose Garden – a one-time prune orchard – is today one of the most attractive of its kind in the world, drawing thousands of visitors each year.
Big Basin Redwoods State Park
Established in 1902, Big Basin Redwoods is California’s oldest state park. In the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains, its biggest attractions—literally—are its ancient coast redwoods. Some of these giants are more than 50 feet around and as tall as the Statue of Liberty. At 1,000 to 1,800 years old, some may predate the Roman Empire. The park also offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, lush waterfalls, and a fascinating natural and cultural history.
