The first time we "met" was through a mutual friend. We were in two different countries. Daniel was teaching in California and I was teaching in Korea. He was living with my college friends that worked at the same school he was working at. My friend Marbella was the match-maker in the story. I think she contacted me because I'm the only single Korean girl she knew at the time and wanted me to get to know the Korean guy that was living with her and her husband. She gave me his Instagram link so I thought it wouldn't hurt just looking at some pictures of this guy. While looking through his Instagram I accidentally liked one of his pictures. That's what started this long distance relationship. He direct messaged me after he saw I liked his photo. I thought he just wanted to be polite and say hi, ask me my favorite color, and maybe ask me what my hobbies were. But to our surprise we clicked! What started out to be maybe 1 to 2 line responses turned into full paragraphs. It didn't take long for us to start talking on the phone and soon face timing each other. After six long months of our long distance relationship, Daniel came to Korea. We finally met in person.
We met up to go to a fancy restaurant. When I saw him he was holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers in his hand. He wasn't acting like his usual self. He was a bit quiet and seemed nervous. We got to the restaurant and I went to the restroom. When I came back there was a small box on the table where I was sitting. He didn't say anything so I asked what this was. He said to open it and there was a ring inside. He then asked me if I would marry him. There was no hesitating. I said YES! After that he didn't seem nervous anymore.
