We first met in the halls of Wake Christian Academy in Raleigh, NC. If you're really curious, we can show you some cringey facebook messages that were exchanged between us in the early 2010's! We mostly just shared mutual friends and knew of each other. Erin was a school year older than Danny so there wasn't a ton of overlap. Danny moved to Greensboro in 2017 but when he moved back to Raleigh in 2018 it wasn't long before he was sliding into Erin's DM's and hinting at wanting to go on a date. That brings us to November of 2018 when Danny finally asked Erin to meet him for dinner at Whiskey Kitchen in downtown Raleigh one chilly Tuesday evening. Erin didn't know this was a date at first (lol, she brought her roommate/bridesmaid Dana) but she instantly got butterflies when she saw him. The rest is history.

Asheville has always been a special place for us. After that first day trip that we took, I knew that every trip that we took in the future was going to be exciting. That trip, and many after, showed me just how special Erin was. The way that she meticulously planned every detail and made sure to remember things that I really wanted to do, really showed me that she truly cared about me. The laughs we've had, the dinners we ate, and the walks through downtown Asheville will always bring a smile to my face every time I think about them. I just knew I had to involve Asheville somehow in the proposal plan. I planned a trip under the guise of celebrating our 3 year dating anniversary and what better place to celebrate than Asheville! I made sure to make plans that would seem pretty obvious that I was doing something bigger, but I waited until the drive back home, through the Blue Ridge Parkway, to pop the question. We pulled off on a very scenic overlook and made sure I mustered up all the courage I could. I can't really remember what I said, but I will play back that, "Yes!" over and over again forever. The very last surprise was a family gathering at her parents house and a friends gathering at a local spot in Raleigh.
