The Goldmine is a great local saloon! They have a lovely outdoor space with live music on the weekends, a firepit, and cornhole! It's a great place to stop for a drink. I've added the link to the Gold Mine's "things to do in Idaho City" page for more ideas!
This is a cute mountain town up the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway (Highway 21). Here you can go kayaking, white water rafting, hiking, camping, fishing, etc! You have gorgeous views of the Sawtooth Mountains and you're not far away from our favourite place to camp, Redfish Lake. If you're planning on heading up that direction, ask me where the secret hot spring is ;)
Boise is the heart of Idaho! There are tons of great restaurants and bars! Check out Freak Alley for local art, check out the Basque Block, Mother Earth Brewing Co. taproom for the beautiful Cali Creamin' Ale, check out the World Centre for Birds of Prey, walk along the Boise River greenbelt, start a protest at the capitol, go axe throwing, go to the botanical gardens, explore the Old Idaho Penitentiary, and there is so much more!!
These are some of my favourite natural hot springs! There is a campground next to it so I recommend staying over if you're into camping. The springs are just a short hike along the gorgeous Payette River. There are natural pools dotted around and you can cool off in the river if it gets too hot.
This was the first established winery in Idaho and they are known for their amazing Idaho favourite, huckleberry wine! It's a gorgeous tasting room and it's where we almost decided to renew our vows. While you're in the area look up the Idaho Wine Commission and there will be a map of all of the amazing wineries in the area. Our favourite is Koenig Winery. They have incredible Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and so much more! They also make ice wine and their version of port if you're into the sweeter stuff.
