Debbie and Daniel’s journey began in 6th grade at Apopka Middle School, where their eyes first met and they had an instant crush. They would pass notes in class and share their first hugs. They were too young and too scared to share their first kiss. However, life decided they needed to grow as individuals. For more than a decade, these two friends kept in touch until finally, God decided they were ready. On July 4th, 2020, Daniel went to Debbie's house and met her parents, then gave her a ride to the Dixon family tradition of roasting hot dogs and s’mores over the fire, before they lit fireworks to end the night. No words were needed for them to know how one another felt in that moment. They went on their first official date to Universal CityWalk, where they played putt-putt golf and watched a movie together. On the way home, they ate at Shake Shack for their favorite food item, BURGERS. After that first date, many more followed. Five years later, on September 13th, 2025, Daniel surprised Debbie at Bok Tower Gardens by inviting both their families to be there when he got down on one knee and asked Debbie to marry him. SHE SAID YES!
