Schedule
Our Wedding Ceremony
Kabbalat Panim – Before the ceremony, the bride and groom greet guests separately, with men and women in different areas in keeping with Chabad custom. At the groom’s reception there is joyful singing and the signing of the Ketubah, the Jewish marriage contract. The bride receives guests in a warm, serene setting.
Bedeken – The groom veils the bride, symbolizing modesty and a focus on inner beauty.
Chuppah – The ceremony takes place beneath the wedding canopy, representing the couple’s new home. Blessings are recited, a ring is given, and the Seven Blessings celebrate building a Jewish life together.
Breaking the Glass – The groom breaks a glass in remembrance of Jerusalem. We joyfully call out, “Mazel Tov!”
Yichud – The couple shares a brief private moment before joining the celebration and dancing.
