Our Story

How It Started // The Proposal

HOW IT STARTED Carlin and Daniel first met at a coworkers birthday party in 2018 and although they didn’t work side by side they still managed to find time to smile at one another in passing. Over the next few months Daniel talked Carlin in to coming to the gym with him and hanging out at Panera bread while studying and reading. Carlin is from Sumner, Illinois which is about four hours from Cincinnati so naturally her parents were curious as to this new guy to whom Carlin was talking. So when they came to visit they made sure to sit Daniel down and ask him all the good questions like “what are your intentions” and “what do you like about Carlin” and the like. Daniel and Carlin spent the next few months dating and getting to know each other’s quirks. Eventually, Daniel knew it was time to make it official. So, September 6th, Daniel took Carlin to a nice Italian restaurant and asked her to be his girlfriend! And she said “YES!” THE PROPOSAL Having asked for Carlin’s parents blessing in June, Daniel quickly turned around and started to develop plans for the big day! The first step was to decide where. That was easy. Daniel has known where he was going to propose for quite some time now. In Cincinnati there is a park along the Ohio river called Smale Park. This is where the young couple first said that they loved each other so Daniel knew that it would make for the perfect place to propose. On October 5th, 2019 Daniel and Carlin headed downtown for “dinner with his parents”. On the way downtown Daniel stopped by the park. As they walked through the park Carlin saw a table with roses and a card on it. As they approached she knew what was happening. Daniel handed Carlin the card and as she read it he got down on one knee. The card finished with “now to ask you this one question” and Carlin lowered the card, and Daniel asked “Carlin Nickole Rosborough, will you marry me?” And she said “YES!”

COVID-19

May 15, 2020

Last year we were due to be wed in June. But due to the pandemic we decided to cancel the wedding. We decided to get married on May 15 in Daniel’s parents backyard with our parents and siblings in attendance. We still, however, desire to celebrate our marriage with family and friends so we decided to set a NEW date. This year we will be celebrating with family and friends. We will still be celebrating our marriage in a ceremony that will serve to re-affirm our vows to another and fulfull our desire to make our vows before family and friends.
