Daniel and Carina met at work at Milton Hospital in May 2018. After several months of each thinking the other was "kinda cute" and trying to find excuses to interact at work together they finally made plans to go bowling with friends in January of 2019. They immediately hit it off and Dan decided to go with a bold move to make Carina dinner for their second date. Despite the limitations of a galley sized apartment kitchen with a slanted stove and actually only one foot of counter space he pulled off a steak dinner complete with apps. Needless to say Carina was impressed, but what really won her over was when she heard Dan interacting with a difficult patient. Despite an demanding patient causing a frustrating situation, Dan kept his cool the entire time and was exceptionally kind. This was when Carina knew he was the type of guy she wanted to be with for the rest of her life. For Dan, it was when she made him chocolate lava cakes. They moved in together (to an apartment with a bigger kitchen!) in September 2019 and after the cohabitation trial went well they decided to advance to the next step of getting a dog together. Enter Ivy, a German Shepherd puppy just waiting to test the relationship with late night bathroom runs and endless nipping at ankles. Luckily for Ivy both Dan and Carina adored her from the start and found their rhythm as new pet parents together. Soon after they realized the size and energy level of their lovely pup did not fit well in a 2 bedroom Boston apartment, and they began looking at houses. Dan and Carina found their dream house with a fenced in back yard. Through a streak of luck they had an offer accepted and were able to move in January 2021. After months of learning the ups and downs of becoming home owners and enjoying their new house, Dan managed to completely surprise Carina on 5/21 with a beautiful proposal on their property. Shortly after they found Valley View Farm and booked the venue neither one wanting a long engagement
Dan and Carina looked into several wedding venues, but Valley View Farm quickly became their favorite. Not only did it provide the natural beauty they both envisioned for a rustic wedding, but it also places a strong emphasis on sustainability. Valley View is a working farm and uses a caterer who sources over 90% of their ingredients from local farms to provide guests with a farm to table experience. After the wedding any leftover food is composted and used as fodder for their pigs to eliminate waste.
