In August of 2018, Camille was the interim Literary Arts and AP Literature teacher at Nashville School of the Arts, and Daniel had just accepted the job of Theatre Conservatory Director at the same school. We’re sure we interacted at some point during a faculty meeting, but frankly both of us were so overwhelmed with our own lives that we didn’t give each other a second glance. Camille’s time at NSA was supposed to be temporary; however, in October of 2018 a full time English position opened up, and she decided to make her Master’s program part time so she could take the job. Daniel was a bit overwhelmed with 7(!!) class preps and multiple productions, so the administration decided to help him out by placing Camille as a co-teacher in two of his theatre classes. Camille had ZERO experience in theatre, and Daniel was flying by the seat of his pants in his classes. As those of you who know Camille well can imagine, this did not bode well for their partnership. As the end of first semester wore on, we became good friends and slowly realized that the other was not so horrible. By the end of January of 2019, we started dating, and the rest is history!
