Wedding Party

Griffin Mumby

Best Man

Griffin and Dan have been best friends since they played hockey together in elementary school. In middle school, Griffin was cool because he was good at hockey and the ladies loved him. Dan was scrawny and rosy, but Griffin never left his side and ensured that Dan was also invited to all the parties etc. You might recognize Griffin from his time with the WHL Regina Pats where he put up a club record of eight points in two seasons. That's hot. Fun fact, Griffin was once suspended in middle school for pantsing the best friend of Lauren (Aria's Bridesmaid).

Amanda Ames

Maid of Honor

Amanda and Aria have been inseparable since they met in residency and the entire program refers to them as "Amaria". Amanda has been spotted at the tail end of a 96-hour call shift without breaking a sweat. She has also been witnessed falling to the floor after eating a slightly overripe piece of fruit. Amanda and Aria love to climb, ski, surf, and play tennis together -- what Amanda lacks in running for the ball, she makes up for in spirit. Dan and Aria agree that Amanda is the most intelligent, generous, and graceful person they've met. She is Christmas morning. She is also the most patient (Amanda's partner is Blake, see description below). You can catch Amanda on the dance floor unless she is faking shin splints again.

Logan Zahn

Groomsman

Dan met Logan in school where they bonded over video games, hockey and a love for Co-op Gold Lager. Many of Dan's favourite high school memories are from time spent at Logan's cabin with their friends. Nowadays, Dan provides Logan with free medical advice in exchange for tips on how to perform tax evasion (Logan is a CPA so I think this is legal). Aria once cooked dinner for all of Dan's friends, and Logan brought her flowers. She was very impressed. Later that night, Logan brought over a date who broke their patio furniture. Aria was less impressed by this. Reminiscent of an offspring of Jonah Hill in Superbad and an Irish leprechaun, Logan is always ready for a party.

Lauren Hebert

Bridesmaid

Lauren and Aria met when they were 17 at a dorm party. Later, Lauren sang Aria a song about meiosis and Aria thought, "wow". Lauren got Aria through undergrad with her three ingredient pasta sauce (ask Laur for the recipe for this banger), and by bringing Aria little containers of homemade garlic aioli to class (Lauren doesn't even remember doing this, so you will not be getting this recipe). Lauren is brilliant and articulate and thoughtful, so it is no surprise that she now works as a lawyer in Toronto -- talk about an upgrade from a dorm party! When you ask Aria to tell you about Lauren, she will gush about her contagious energy, her impeccable taste, and her big heart. If Lauren was a drink, she would be champagne.

Sheldon Mathew

Groomsman

Dan loves Sheldon, but Dan's mom's dog, Luna, absolutely loathes him. His preferred nickname is "baby hands" which is self-explanatory. Sheldon is a generous man and once got Dan a job at a dealership for a summer. What he didn't tell Dan was that he would be power-washing cow poo off of farm equipment for minimum wage while Sheldon worked inside selling an average of one chainsaw per day for double the wage. This was his way of thanking Dan for letting him cheat off of him in high school on their religion exam. Sheldon is guaranteed to be first at the bar and last off the dance floor.

Mae Hegagi

Bridesmaid

Mae and Aria met at a mall foodcourt in Montreal. Have you ever heard of yin and yang? Well, Aria and Mae are yang and yang (copy and paste). Aria can always count on Mae to give her the best advice and affectionately refers to her as the "ultimate girl's girl". When together, the two of them have a habit of yapping so quickly that they have to take breaks to massage their jaws. Imagine having to sit behind them on their flight to LA...terrible. Mae is the most loving, considerate and uplifting person. She puts a smile on everyone's face so it is only fitting that she fixes smiles for a living (as a dentist). The first time Dan met Mae, he said "I've never seen anyone eat dinner so slowly". Mae's talents include baking delicious treats and dancing for hours in five-inch Jimmy Choos (an athlete) without complaining.

Blake Birnie

Groomsman

Blake is an absolute menace and starts his day with 6 shots of espresso. Yikes. Us Weekly once described Blake as "down for anything". He really is. Blake once drove all the way to Whistler just to turn around and come home because he didn't see the snow (he was new to the concept of a gondola). Despite this setback, he later taught himself how to ski moderately well on a set of bricks. At their beginner's group surf lesson in Hawaii, Blake surfed so hard that he threw up his breakfast (a dark purple acai bowl) while making eye contact with the surf instructor. This earned Aria's respect. Dan was concerned, but not concerned enough to stop surfing. While Blake gives raccoon, he is also the most considerate, reliable, and selfless friend, and he will always be there when you need him.

Rita Gustainis

Bridesmaid

Rita and Aria met while working at the Keg Steakhouse and quickly bonded over the baked brie. They left the Keg the same year to pursue medicine and Rita was the only reason Aria made it to one of her interviews in the middle of a snowstorm! Rita is trustworthy, genuine and hilarious, and has a talent for building Ikea furniture. She once assembled Aria’s bed in less than an hour while extremely jet-lagged and covered in bed bug bites (Aria and Rita were recently staying at a budget hostel in Greece). Now THAT is a good friend. Rita is also patient -- Aria once spilled soy sauce all over Rita's new car and Rita was super chill about the whole thing. Please do not offer Rita any fish/shellfish because she is allergic but will eat it anyways. If you can convince Rita to move to Vancouver, Aria will pay for your return flight.
