Save the Date!

We came into each other’s lives from opposite directions. Daniel relocated from Massachusetts to Cleveland to teach, and a few years later I made the same move from Dayton to join the same school. I became his assistant in the classroom, where we worked together supporting students with special needs, he as the math teacher and I as the paraprofessional. I quickly came to admire his compassion and steady kindness. At home I would share his math lessons with my son Dakota, turning them into bedtime stories each night. After some early attempts at flirting that went completely unnoticed, we finally went on our first date, an evening that felt entirely our own. Since neither of us had experienced a high school prom, we created one in my living room. We dressed up, danced together, and Daniel sang to me. It was simple, personal, and unforgettable. Since then, life has been full in the best way. We are raising our son, sharing a love for Star Wars and Star Trek, and spending time outdoors in parks and gardens. We still find our way back to the dance floor, often in our living room, to the songs we have collected since that first prom. After four years together, we chose to continue building this life with intention and certainty. We selected our rings the same way we choose each other every day. Daniel made the moment beautifully intimate, ending just as so many of our days. Cozy and full of magic, but this time at Disney World.
