FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code

Answer

Dress Code: Tropical / Garden Chic Flowy dresses, linen outfits, traditional wear, rampas, etc. Kindly no jeans. We’re keeping things simple — there may be a Maid of Honor and Best Man, and we’ll coordinate with them directly. There won’t be a full bridal party — just close family and friends celebrating together. Please dress comfortably, keeping Mexico’s warm and humid weather in mind. Even in the evenings, while it’s not as hot, it’s also not very breezy in April. We’ve selected a time and venue with some shade and minimal direct sun, but how cool you feel will depend on your outfit — so dress to your comfort level.

Question

Do I have to stay at the Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach?

Answer

Yes — all guests must stay at the Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach. Due to resort policy and our wedding contract, a 4-night minimum stay is required. Unfortunately, coordinating temporary access for outside guests (not staying at the resort) is not allowed by the resort, so staying on-site is the only way to attend the wedding events.

Question

When should i RSVP by

Answer

Please RSVP by October 15th, 2025. To stay organized with the resort and our wedding coordinator, only guests with confirmed travel plans (such as hotel bookings or flight arrangements) will be added to the official guest list. This helps us finalize seating, coordinate events like the welcome dinner and reception, and avoid last-minute surprises. We know this may feel early, but last-minute travel costs tend to be much higher, and can make it more difficult for guests to attend. Setting a clear and realistic deadline gives everyone enough time to plan—and helps us make sure everything runs smoothly. If your plans change after confirming, please just let us know as soon as possible. We completely understand that things can come up.

Question

Can I bring extra guests or a plus one?

Answer

Absolutely — we understand that many guests may want to turn this into a vacation! If you’re planning to bring a plus one or additional guests, please let us know in advance so we can coordinate extra seating with the resort. Please keep in mind that we’re working with limited space, so we kindly ask that any additional guests remain within a reasonable number. We’ll do our best to accommodate, but early communication is key!

Question

Will we all be together the entire trip?

Answer

Not necessarily — we want our guests to truly enjoy their trip! We’ll be planning a welcome dinner and all the wedding events (ceremony, reception, and after-party), but the rest of your stay is completely up to you. There’s so much to see, do, and explore in Mexico, and we encourage everyone to take full advantage of it. If you’d like help arranging excursions, feel free to reach out — we’re happy to help or even set up a group activity for those who want to stick together. After the wedding, Daniel and I will be heading straight into our honeymoon, so we’ll be soaking up our newlywed time while you enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Question

How much will Flight costs?

Answer

Flight prices will vary depending on where you’re traveling from. From Canada: Prices are currently higher due to how far out we are from the wedding. However, price predictions show that flights should drop in the coming months. Keep an eye out for deals, especially for direct flights with airlines like WestJet and Air Canada. From the Bahamas: Keep an eye on JetBlue, American Airlines, and Delta. Flights currently range from $600+ USD, but you may find cheaper options under $600 until around November 14th. After that, prices are expected to rise gradually from late November through early March, based on price trends. We recommend using tools like Google Flights or Hopper to track prices and book when you see a good deal. From Nigeria- Please reach out to us directly

Question

How much does the resort stay cost?

Answer

Iberostar offers several room tiers and flexible payment options, including a “book now, pay later” option. Pricing depends on room type, length of stay, and current promotions. For the basic tier with double occupancy and a minimum 4-night stay, the current sale price is approximately: $1,239 USD $1,714 CAD Please note that these are discounted promotional prices, and the standard rates are significantly higher: $1,907 USD $2,600 CAD We highly encourage everyone to take advantage of these sales while they last! Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach is an all-inclusive 5-star resort, so the price includes food, drinks, and most on-site activities.

Question

Do babies or toddlers stay free?

Answer

Yes — infants and very young children (usually under 2 years old) typically stay free of charge at Iberostar resorts when sharing a room with adults.

Question

When should I arrive and how long should I stay?

Answer

Since the wedding is on April 22nd and the welcome dinner is on April 21st, we kindly ask guests to plan to arrive on either April 20th or 21st. The length of your stay is completely up to you — just note that the resort requires a minimum 4-night stay. Some guests are planning to stay from April 20th to 24th, but feel free to extend your trip if you’d like.

Question

Is it safe to book now, or should I wait in case plans change?

Answer

Yes — you’re good to book! Our wedding date and venues are confirmed, and we’ve signed the contract with the resort. We’re now actively planning with our on-site coordinator, and our own travel is already booked. Everything is locked in, and no major changes can be made — so feel free to book your trip with confidence!

Question

Will I receive a formal invitation?

Answer

We’ve decided not to send out formal invitations. Our wedding website includes everything you need and serves as the official invitation. However, if you are applying for a U.S. visa and require a formal invitation letter as part of your application, we’re happy to provide one — just reach out to us directly.

Question

What are the venues?

Answer

the ceremony and reception venues are located on the Del Mar side, which is shared with Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach. These two resorts are sister properties within the larger Iberostar complex and share many of the same facilities. While the venue itself is on the Del Mar side, our wedding is officially hosted through Waves Paraiso Beach, so all guests must stay on the Waves Beach side. Given the size of the resort grounds, we’ll be coordinating golf cart transportation through our wedding coordinator to bring guests from the main lobby at Waves Beach to the ceremony location.
