Amethyst and Daniel first met over a dating app (I know, so Gen Z) when they were both living in Houston. At first, Amethyst played hard to get, but eventually Daniel got his date and it changed the course of both of their lives forever. On September 24, 2021, we met for our first date in Houston. What was meant to be a simple evening quickly became something unforgettable. We started at Hungry Like the Wolf, an 80’s themed diner full of character, laughter, and retro charm. Over milkshakes and conversation, we bonded easily and discovered a shared love for all things spooky. From there, the night took a cinematic turn with a rooftop showing of Friday the 13th. The air was surprisingly cold, the stars were out, and the city lights stretched below us. Wrapped up against the chill, we talked, laughed, and connected over horror movie commentary and stories that made the night feel effortlessly comfortable. By the end of the night, we knew this was the beginning of something worth holding onto. What started as dinner and a movie turned into the first chapter of our favorite story. Throughout our time together, we also found to have a shared love of nature, especially the woods and mountains. We continue to attempt to visit every national/state park that we can find, and found that we wanted to declare our love in our favorite pastiche. Through it all, we have lived in five different cities together, owned four different pets, and traveled through five different states, our love has continued to grow and blossom. We cannot wait to share our story and love with everyone and hope you'll celebrate our special day together with us, where we always really connect: in nature.
