Like all great romances—and at least half of today’s relationships—ours began with one very lucky swipe on Hinge in the summer of 2022. Daniel, blessed with beginner’s luck, matched with Alexa before ever going on a single Hinge date. Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said for Alexa. That’s right: for him, first date, last date. Annoying, honestly. One match became a first date, the first date became many more, and before long, we realized we had found something special: a love that felt like home, but with more games, less personal space, and a lifetime supply of “What do you want to do tonight?” At the time, Alexa was busy earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at U of M, while Daniel was building his flooring business and laying the foundation for their future. Pun intended. From the beginning, we embraced each other’s passions. Alexa bravely attended countless football games, slowly mastering the difference between the teams...and their "costumes". Daniel became Alexa’s loyal zoo companion, visiting animals in nearly every state we traveled to and pretending to be surprised when another vacation included a zoo trip. Somewhere between touchdowns and baby gorillas, we discovered that we’re basically yin and yang. We balance each other, bring out the best in one another, and take turns being the responsible one. Through big adventures, ordinary days, and approximately one million “What's for dinner?” conversations, we’ve learned that life is simply more fun together. Now we’re making it official—because apparently matching on Hinge wasn’t legally binding. We can’t wait to begin our greatest adventure yet, and we’re so grateful to celebrate with all of you!
