Celestine is a beautiful restaurant, with stunning views of the Manhattan Bridge, East River, and Manhattan skyline. The menu is inspired by Mediterranean, North African, and Middle Eastern cuisine, with delicious cocktails. It is connected to John Street Park via a small footpath, where the views are even better. Please be mindful of having any alcoholic drinks at the park. Dinner will be served either buffet or family-style (as of this writing, we have not yet decided!), but either way, please come hungry!
Please include all dietary restrictions on the RSVP page.
Our ceremony will take place on Celestine's outdoor terrace. In the case of rain, it will be moved indoors. As a reminder, seating is limited, and some guests may need to stand. Cocktail hour will be held on the terrace directly afterwards.
Please plan to arrive by 6:00pm; the terrace will be open to guests 15 minutes prior. You will be greeted with a welcome drink, and vows will begin around 6:10pm.
There will not be organized transportation. The F train at the Jay St./MetroTech subway station is close to both hotels, which you can take directly to York Street, and Celestine is just four blocks away. However, subway service can change on weekends, and may run with less frequency. Uber, Lyft, or taxi are other easy options.
We ask that you refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony. We want you to enjoy every moment with us, while our photographer captures them! At all other times, please take as many photos as you'd like.
The dress code is Semi-Formal. We suggest the following attire: Knee-length or midi dresses, dressy separates, dressy jumpsuits, light dress shirts with khakis or slacks, jackets, optional ties. Please consider footwear in which you will be most comfortable, should you need to stand during the ceremony.
Please let us know if you can attend by April 6th, 2024.
The day of the wedding will be adults only. But if you are making a family vacation out of traveling to NYC, we definitely want to see everyone, and will make time over the weekend to see you and the whole family!
Subway, baby! Or the bus. Be sure to check for any line changes or station closures before you head out. MTA.info or Google Maps is useful when checking for reroutes. Brooklyn is also very walkable, so you might even enjoy exploring by foot! Uber, Lyft, and taxis are also widely available. Taxis can be hailed on the street or through the Curb app. Look for green taxis in Brooklyn!
June is typically a very nice time of year in NYC. Daytime temperatures tend to range from mid-70s to low-80s, and nights are usually in the 60s. For guests accustomed to a more globally-used scale: Days, 20-27 C Nights, 15-18 C
My parents are unable to travel, unfortunately. But they are very happy for us, and give us both their best wishes.
