FAQs

If you have any other questions, please contact Daniela or RJ!
Question

Do I need a visa or a passport?

Answer

A valid passport is required. For most guests (US, Canada, etc.), a tourist visa is granted upon arrival, but ensure your passport doesn't expire within 6 months of the trip!

Question

How do I get my passport and how long does it take?

Answer

If you don't have a passport, you should apply now. It currently takes about 8 to 10 weeks from the day you mail it to the day it arrives at your door. For more information, check out this website: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html

Question

Can I bring a plus-one or my children?

Answer

Due to the intimate nature of our destination wedding, we can only accommodate those named on the invitation.

Question

How do I get around the city?

Answer

We recommend using Uber! They are very affordable and safe. Taxis are also everywhere, but Uber allows you to set the destination in the app to avoid language barriers.

Question

What is the weather like in Medellin?

Answer

Expect sunny days around 80°F and crisp, breezy evenings in the low 60s. Since we’re in the mountains, we recommend a light jacket for after the sun goes down.

Question

How will you get to the wedding venue?

Answer

We’ve arranged a shuttle to pick up guests at Novotel for easy transport to the venue. If you'd like to join, just scan the QR code on-site to pay for your seat. Prefer to go your own way? Taxis and Ubers are also great options and easy to call from anywhere in the city.

Question

Will transportation be provided from the airport to the hotel?

Answer

The airport is about 30-45 minutes away. We recommend using Uber, or we can coordinate a shuttle for you! Please reach out to us with your arrival time and flight number if you'd like us to book a ride in advance on your behalf.

Question

Can I pay with a credit card?

Answer

It depends on your bank! Some cards have Foreign Transaction Fees (usually 1% to 3%), while many travel-focused cards have none. Before traveling, we recommend calling your bank or checking your app. If a card machine asks if you want to be charged in USD or COP, always choose COP.
