We both grew up in Bartlett and attended high school together sharing mutual friends. It was a few years after college when an impromptu plan was made to go to a Cubs game with a large group of friends. Neither of us had planned to hit it off that day but after a few innings into the game Dani said "let's go get a beer" (right after she had gotten a fresh one) in order to sneak away from the group. We made our way down to seats directly behind home plate where we had our first kiss...and the rest is history!

We were taking a impromptu trip to go skiing up in Wisconsin. While there were many people that knew a ring had been acquired no one knew I was planning to propose that day. As we were getting in the car I pointed to my jacket and mouthed "I have the ring!" to Dani's dad, Barry. The plan was to tell Dani I wanted to stop at the top of the mountain to take a picture. As we got off the chairlift I handed Barry my phone and said "just keep snapping pictures and don't stop." Dani thought it was odd we were stopping but once I got down on one knee she was in total shock. Happiness and excitement took over for the rest of the day as we celebrated with our loved ones!
