Things To Do
Gyeongbokgung Palace
Gyeongbukgung Palace was built in 1395 and was the main palace for the royal family during the Joseon Dynasty. Near by is Bukchon Hanok Village, cafes, and traditional Korean restaurants.
Ikseon-dong Hanok Village
Visit Ikseon-dong to see unique cafes, shops, and restaurants nestled in a traditional style Hanok village.
Insadong Culture Street
Insadong is known for its antiques, artwork, and tea houses. It's just a short walk away from Ikseon-dong and near Gyeongbokgung Palace. Here you can visit an outdoor mall, Ssamzigil, that specializes in hand-made items!
Myeong-dong
One of the most popular tourist areas, Myeong-dong has shopping, restaurants, and tons of street food vendors. Heads up: the streets can get very crowded.
Hongdae
Hongdae is a neighborhood near Hongik University. It is known for its street fashion, shopping, cafes, nightlife, and street performances.
Yeonnam-dong
Right by Hongdae, Yeonnam-dong is another popular area where people gather for art, fashion, cafes, restaurants, and a walk through Yeontral Park.
Seongsu-dong
Seongsu, considered the "Brooklyn of Seoul," is a hip, trendy area with tons of pop-up shops, cafes, and restaurants. It's also near Seoul Forest--a large park with beautiful scenery!
Yeouido Hangang Park
One of the most popular parks along Han River. You can rent picnic mats, tables, listen to music, and eat food along the river. There are also many restaurants, food vendors, and convenience stores.
Dongmyo Flea Market
If you're interested in thrifting and vintage items, Dongmyo is the place to visit! There are tons of vintage/thrift stores and stalls to rummage through.
Hwaseong Fortress
Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hwaseong Fortress was built in the late 1700s during the Joseon Dynasty. Located in Suwon, it's a nice place to visit if you would like to travel outside of Seoul. It's surrounded by tons of cool cafes, shops, and restaurants.
