We first met in the summer of 2018 while working at the same summer camp. Thanks to a mutual friend, we had heard about each other long before we actually crossed paths. When Jason finally asked Daniela out on a date, she was so oblivious she invited a friend to tag along — who thankfully canceled at the last minute (dodged a third wheel situation). During that first date, Jason won Daniela over by ordering for her in Mandarin, and together they laughed at her very questionable chopstick skills. That’s when Daniela knew he was someone special. Fast forward to 2020 — Jason joined the military, and suddenly long-distance (plus a few unexpected adventures, including a near "lost in the Philippines" moment) became part of their story. Somewhere between airport goodbyes, timezone differences, and “wait, where are you stationed now?” calls, they realized they were each other’s home base. Now, after years of love, laughter, and lots of adventures, they’re finally saying yes to forever!
