It all began in our middle school band class. When I was in sixth grade and Gabriel in seventh grade, we were both placed on alto saxophone as our main instrument. From there on we quickly became close friends and each other’s crushes. As the years passed, I headed into high school and continued participating in the band where Gabriel was also. Through high school, we saw our feelings strongly grow for each other and knew we wouldn’t want to be with anyone else. However, we did not officially start dating until June 2019 after I graduated high school. We have been dating ever since and can proudly say that we get to marry our best friend. <3

Our proposal took place at the beautiful Bok Towers! Our families did a great job of hiding it from me. The day of the proposal I thought Gloria and I were taking a day to explore a new place since we love to travel. When I arrived and walked through a beautiful entrance and saw Gabriel at the end waiting for me, I froze and felt in disbelief that this was actually happening. Then when I also saw my family there watching, it made everything even more meaningful. The theme of the proposal was from one of our favorite Christmas movies, the Polar Express. He handed me a ticket that asked if I would marry him and of course, I said yes!
