Our journey to love started nearly 8 years ago when we met at Bates Memorial in Louisville, KY. The early stage of our relationship was filled with quality time building a friendship. The Cinemas on Preston became a sanctuary for organic conversations lasting until sunrise. We soon knew there was more to our connection and set out to work towards a relationship. The past several years have been filled with ups and downs, highs and lows, joy and sorrow, triumph and failures, great accomplishment and lessons learned. We discovered ourselves, learned each other, and allowed one another the grace to grow and change. Although we desired reaching this moment sooner, God had a more perfect plan in store.
On Wednesday, July 22, 2020, we had dinner at Bourbon's Bistro. Over dinner we discussed our current places in life and goals for the future (as we've done a gazillion times before), then made a toast to intentionality. Eric shared about everything he had, including a ring given to him by his mother. It was the only thing he had in remembrance of his late grandmother. He told Daniela that he wanted to give it to her because she has a way of making things better. Soon after he got down on one knee and asked, "Will you marry me?" After crying hysterically, Daniela said yes. With his grandmother's ring in hand, he said "I didn't get this sized, and have no idea if it will fit. If not, we'll figure something out. But I want you to have this." Daniela replied, "Let's just try and see what happens." The ring fit perfectly.
Saturday, August 8th, 2020 we will elope with our parents and children. We'd love for our loved ones and close friends to join us in person, but due to COVID, we are opting to share our love in a non-traditional way. Join us virtually as we exchange vows and come together in covenant with God.
