FAQs

Feel free to reach out to us if you have a question, and also please check this page as we'll update it with questions we get coming closer to the big day.
Question

How do I get to Oaxaca if I'm coming from Europe?

Answer

It might seem like a long way to the far side of Mexico but Oaxaca is relatively easy to get to. From farther afield, you will need to fly to a local major hub like Mexico City, Cancun, Dallas or Houston, and then connect on to Oaxaca. It is possible to drive from Mexico City but that's around 6 hours on the highway so you may be more comfortable and quicker in the air.

Question

What's the dress code?

We’d love for our wedding to be a glamorous affair! We kindly ask that Ladies wear a formal floor-length gown. Gentlemen, dress to impress too! Formal attire, dark suit and tie please.

Question

Answer

Question

Question

I'm thinking about making the trip a bit longer and enjoying Mexico, what should I do if I'm travelling from Europe?

Answer

There's a wealth of options 1. Yucatan and the Caribbean - Flying via Cancun gets you access to options like Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Bacalar, Merida, Chichen Itza and Holbox easy to tag on a longer connection and enjoy the delights of south eastern Mexico. 2. Mexico City - Connecting through Ciudad de Mexico opens up central Mexico including the metropolis of CdMX with everything from cool barrios to the delights of Xochimilco, archaeological marvels like Teotihuacan and the Museo de Antropologia or farther out, cities like Puebla, San Miguel de Allende or even the high sierra mountains like Iztaccihuatl and Nevado de Toluca. 3. Oaxaca state is the green south western corner of Mexico and has some of the best pacific beaches. Look for Puerto Escondido or Huatulco, and check out the Things To Do page as well. 4. You can always look to see what the northern neighbour has on offer too if travelling through Texas but we'd recommend making the most of Mexico. Why not take a look at Dan's home away from home and go see las Barrancas del Cobre in Chihuahua if you want to explore farther north?
