Our Love Story

We first met at my grandfather's church in Oklahoma when we were just kids. Over the years, there was always mutual respect between us, especially because Alex was close friends with my brother Isaac. I grew up with a quiet crush on Alex, but due to both of our shyness—and maybe a bit of awkwardness—we never allowed ourselves the opportunity to explore something deeper. In early 2024, my grandpa called me, asking me to visit him and his church to "help" with a youth event, where I would be working alongside the youth leader... Alex. Of course, it was more than clear what my grandpa's intentions were—he was trying to set us up! Abuelo, thank you. During the planning for the event, Alex and I began a friendship that later grew into something truly special. From then on we took our time, respecting the boundary of just being friends, but slowly discovering more about each other. One day during the summer at our church's national convention, Alex asked my dad if he could formally pursue me. It was in that moment I realized God's timing was perfect. A year before, Alex had already enrolled in the Hispanic Bible Institute, where my dad had recently taken on leadership. I had enrolled as well, and for the next five months, our bond grew stronger, nurtured by shared experiences and a deepening sense of connection. It was during this time that our friendship blossomed into a beautiful, intentional relationship. Then, just before our graduation on December 13, Alex asked me to marry him. Our love story will always be my favorite story. Through it, God has shown us that when we surrender our lives, including our love lives, into His hands, He will make everything fall into place at the perfect time, in the perfect place, in the right situation.
