Daniel and Nicole met in math class on the first day of freshman year. It wasn't until junior year of High School that Daniel asked Nicole out on a date and they have been dating ever since, over seven years!

Daniel spent a lot of time thinking about the right place to propose. He ultimately decided on a venue that Nicole had brought up as a possibility for a reception called The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge. Daniel weaved the story that their friend Emily wanted to practice portrait shots with Nicole. They took pictures and Daniel, dressed in a t-shirt and shorts, excused himself to the bathroom. Emily and her husband Jay, along with Nicole's sister, Kelly, took Nicole to a row in the vineyard for more pictures. When they got there, Jay handed Nicole a letter and told her to starting walking. There were photos of Daniel and Nicole down the vineyard row and Daniel came down dressed in a blue suit jacket. Daniel then got down on one knee and asked Nicole to marry him, and she of course said yes!
