Wedding Party

Sheril Yarber

Best Woman

"Sheril's my ride or die Thelma and Louise. We grew up aware of the other's existence, but weren't close until we played soccer together my junior year and her senior year. She was always determined to be in the front when we did group runs and her little legs would be going a full 360 degrees to keep up with the boys. But you bet she did! We grew closer right after high school and have had many crazy adventures together since."

John Andreae

Best Man

John and TJ met in college and now both live in DC, where they regularly enjoy XL happy hours at Trade, 326 seasons worth of RuPaul viewing parties, Medium Rare feasts, and random nights of buffoonery. After 13 years of friendship, John has been a true good Ang through it all, and it was a no brainer that he’d be the (simply the) best man.

Corey Jones

Groomsman

"Corey is my little brother but we actually only just met a few years ago. You see, he was switched at birth with another baby and we didn't find out until 2016. He lived 24 years with an Alaskan whaling family. It's a long story, ask my mom to tell it. Kidding! Corey and I, along with our older brother Matthew, have acted like idiots our whole lives. We still do and no one can make me laugh like they do."

Sarah Cohen

Groomswoman

Sarah and TJ met on a weekend in the woods in college and were immediately fast friends, and later became roommates and birthed the beautiful feline creature known as Hitchcock. They’ve kept the magic alive since college with misadventures in New York, camping sagas in Olympic National Park, and plenty of cute pics in between.

Johnna Fields

Groomswoman

"Johnna and I knew each other from growing up in school together. Eighth grade Johnna was ~the look~ because she had JNCO jeans and her obviously bold fashion sense enamored me. We were in band together until she graduated and reconnected right after high school. We cemented our now 20-year friendship one iconic evening with hamburgers from the Chevron and ketchup-flavored potato chips."

Martin Mintz

Groomsman

Martin and TJ met freshmen year at WashU and became fast friends - many of TJ’s embarrassing pictures from those years feature Martin in one place or another, and he wouldn’t have it any other way! Martin provides TJ’s home away from home on visits to NYC, and they always seem to be rewatching the same season of RuPaul (because it’s constantly playing in both households).

Sam Perry

Groomswoman

"I met Sam when we worked at Cingular Wireless together, pre-smartphone days. I was immediately drawn to her because she was quick-witted and always "in" on the joke. Basically- we goofed off. A lot. We grew closer outside of work, managing a trip to Newbies, a Hanson concert, or just a Kroger run for a six-pack, on a regular basis. We moved away from southwest Virginia, much to our mutual celebration, around the same time but she's always been a constant presence in my life and someone I can call and just be like HAY"

Pete Hansel

Groomsman

Pete went to grad school with TJ and also moved up to DC afterwards. Whether it’s hiking in Rock Creek, holiday party shenanigans, or impassioned pleas to go to Nellies, Pete is one of TJ and Daniel’s best Judys in the city. If you’re lucky, his friend Loretta might come out for a visit too.

Anna Fishel

Groomswoman

"Anna was the manager of the first restaurant I worked at after moving to Durham. She quickly became one of my closest friends and a pillar of support in a town where I knew no one. It didn't take long until we were on the same schedule; and everyone knew that when me and Anna sat down for drinks after a shift that they better buckle up. Getting to know her family and kids has been an added bonus and to see such great parenting in action has been very inspiring."

Meagan Mitchell

Groomswoman

Meagan and TJ met at their first apartment in DC - her friend offered TJ a beer at the pool, and the rest is history. They’ve spent the years since then exploring kickball fields, bar crawls, and river tubes, with many nights ending in Ms Mojo and 90s music.

Rebekah Nowak

Groomswoman

"I met Rebekah when I first moved to DC. I worked at a restaurant for like .25 seconds and came in for a training shift and saw Rebekah walking around in the little white dress, heels, and bright orange Goofy® purse. All the staff was bowing to her commands and I thought "Who is this chick?? I'm obsessed!" Turns out, she had only worked there two weeks and we were doing the same training that night. Cut to us giggling and not paying attention all evening. Always down to act like a 12-year old, we've laughed lots ever since."

Alex Mitchell

Groomsman

TJ met Alex at their first apartment in DC, and he has been an accomplice to TJ’s shenanigans on the kickball field, weekend cabin trips, and everywhere in between since then. Him and Meagan are the utmost entertainers and have hosted many a night for TJ and friends at Club Mitchell.

Andrew Menaquale

Officiant

Andrew and TJ were roommates in grad school, where he was quickly adopted as an uncle by Hitchcock due to his petting skills. The story has continued in DC since then, to Hitchcock’s (and now Binx’s) delight! Andrew has witnessed Daniel and TJ’s relationship grow from day one and has been a mainstay in our lives, so it seemed only natural that he could help the two of us make it official nine years later. You can probably find him at Shooters after (maybe even before?) the wedding if you stay awake :)
