Danica and Kevin met the new-fashioned way: two singles living in Minneapolis who happened to swipe right. Because Kevin “planned” the first date—the restaurant was closed when they arrived—they ended up having to wing it. Luckily for him, Danica is pretty laid-back herself, and the two hit it off while bopping around town. After a few more dates in the Twin Cities, Danica and Kevin discovered how much they share in common. Danica grew up in the shadow of Camp Randall, where Kevin spent his undergraduate years Jumping Around. Kevin was back at school at the University of Minnesota, where Danica earned her degree. Both have a blast when hanging out with each other’s friends. And neither can spend too much time apart from their families. The two found they balanced each other out in all the right ways. That’s when the adventures really began—from hiking through the Canadian Rockies, to strolling the beaches of the Gulf Coast, and rafting down the Grand Canyon, visiting with friends and family along the way. All of this while packing up and moving to Chicago where both began new careers. When Kevin had the next adventure all planned out, Danica quickly became suspicious. Despite his best efforts to keep the proposal a secret, Danica knew something was afoot—she had never seen Kevin have every detail and moment accounted for. Even though she saw it coming, while standing on top of Aspen Mountain overlooking the valley below, the moment still felt like a huge surprise when Kevin got down on one knee and popped the question. And that question wasn’t the only thing that popped, Kevin’s siblings were close behind with champagne in hand waiting to welcome Danica into the family.
