FAQs

If you have any other questions that are not listed here, please email messamglennwedding@gmail.com prior to June 11th. We'll provide additional contact information for questions closer to the date!
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP for all of the events no later than May 1st, 2021. This will help us out tremendously and let us be able to plan accordingly for you all! When invitations are sent out, the RSVP tab will populate on this website that will allow you to RSVP for each event.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please refer to your invitation - If the envelope is is addressed to only you (only has your name on it), we ask that you just bring yourself! If the envelope is addressed to you and has someone else's name on it, we ask you only bring the person(s) mentioned on the envelope with you. If the envelope is addressed to you and a guest, you are welcomed to bring a guest/date of your choosing with you (just make sure you RSVP their name by May 1st).

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, this is an adult only affair. Plus, we thought it would be nice for you to have the night off!

Question

What about photos & social media?

Answer

We do ask that during the ceremony you are unplugged. We'd like for everyone to be present with us as we tie the knot. After the ceremony concludes, snap away! And don't forget to tag #TDGlennforthewin!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask you arrive at 4:00pm, so we can keep to schedule (and get to the dancing quicker!)

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes we are! Please see the Registry tab for items we'd love!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Garden Attire. Men or women can wear light-weight slacks with casual but nice shirts or sweaters, or floral prints for a garden party. Suits in lighter hue, though sport coats are optional. Women could wear a summer casual dress or sundress with sandals. Men may wear loafers, and women loafers or sandals. Jeans, athletic apparel, and tennis shoes are generally not appropriate.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes, we have room blocks at ALoft and Marriott SpringHill Suites. Please visit the Travel tab for the links.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Upon RSVPing, you will have the ability to note any dietary restrictions and/or allergies we should know about. Please note, we do plan on keeping it a nut-free event.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is onsite parking at the venue, Birkby House. You may leave your car there overnight, but it MUST be picked up first thing the following morning (by 11:00am), in case there is another event that day.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There will not be transportation or shuttles between the hotels and venue. ALoft hotel is approximately 20 minutes from the venue and SpringHill is about 13 minutes. If you're looking for transportation, we suggest either Uber or Lyfts. There will be plenty in the area!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

This is a weekend affair! Please see The Plan tab for all of our wedding activities. And don't forget to RSVP for them all by May 1st :)

Question

Is the wedding outdoors or indoors?

Answer

Birkby House has created a beautiful garden space to host weddings. The ceremony will be outdoors on brick. Ladies, no need to worry about heels sinking in grass, this is a fully bricked and cemented layout. The reception will take place in a temperature controlled tent. Any inclement weather would require the ceremony to take place under the tent as well.

Question

What COVID restrictions will there be?

Answer

Masks will be required throughout the entire event. We will maintain social distancing as governed by the state of Virginia. We will also have temperature checks upon entering, if you have a fever we ask you stay at home and celebrate with us at a later time!

Question

Will a negative COVID test or proof of vaccine be required?

Answer

Although, we will not be collecting COVID test results, we do ask that you take a COVID test 72 hours prior to the wedding for the safety of others. Any guests that test positive for COVID, we ask that you focus on your health and safety of others by staying at home. If you are able and willing to receive a COVID vaccine prior to the wedding, we highly recommend you do so! The Bride and Groom will have gotten theirs!

Question

Due to downsizing the wedding, will there be a virtual ceremony for folks who will no longer be able to physically join?

Answer

Stay tuned! We truly hope so and will keep you updated!
