We met online and struck up a conversation that has continued to today. After a couple weeks of texting, we met for the first time in person at a small gathering of friends. Sunny swears by the end of the night, they knew Dani was It.
It was so important to Dani that we do this ‘the right way.’ We were best friends first, for what felt like a long time after not very much at all. After six months, he said, “I really want to be your man, will you be my woman?” Y’all, when I say I was c r y i n g, you know.
After nearly two years of Sunny living in Tulsa and Dani being 90 miles away in Grove, we couldn’t take it any more! We packed up all of Sunny’s things and her two rotten cat children, and made one more drive together to start this wonderful, wild life on Grand Lake.
Over the years, one of the quiet joys we’ve come to love sharing together are bubble baths. We’d gone away to Tulsa for the weekend for our third anniversary and had a big evening planned. Beforehand, in a huge claw foot tub, Dani asked me to marry him. And we both cried. And I said yes.
The past year has been tumultuous, emotional, and at times just too much. When 2021 began much the same, we knew what we wanted. We want to take every step into this uncertain future together, and so for that reason we’re getting married in a small, intimate ceremony this summer. We’d both like to extend our deepest thanks and love to every person who has been on this adventure with us, and we can’t wait for more!
