Question

When should I arrive in Barcelona?

Answer

We are hosting a welcome party for all wedding attendees on 10/19/2026, we would love for you to arrive in Barcelona that day or prior.

Question

Do I need a visa to travel to Spain?

Answer

No, citizens of the U.S. and Canada do not need a visa to travel to Spain.

Question

My passport is expiring within a year of the wedding date, is that okay?

Answer

For travel to Spain, your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area. Please note, most countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date. We highly recommend ensuring your passport is up-to-date before traveling to Europe and beyond.

Question

What language do they speak in Barcelona?

Answer

Barcelona is in Catalonia so the official language is Catalan. However, almost everyone will also speak Spanish. In bars and restaurants, most will speak some English as well, though please ask first - we find it's polite to say "Is English ok?" or "Do you speak English?". We also highly encourage you to learn some simple phrases in Catalan or Spanish. Chat GPT and Google Translate can also help tremendously if you ever need help communicating with someone who does not speak your native language.

Question

How do I get to the Villa?

Answer

If you're flying directly from the USA or Canda, you'll fly first into the Barcelona International Airport, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN). From the airport you can either call an Uber or you can take a taxi (about a 25 min. drive into town). If you're traveling within Europe or Spain prior to your arrival to the wedding you can easily utilize the train from Barcelona to Sitges and take an uber/taxi from there. You will take a train from the Barcelona Sants train station located at Plaça dels Països Catalans, 1, 7, 08014. It is the main train station in Barcelona for national and international trains. From the Barcelona Sants train station, you'll take the R2S train to the Sitges train station. Trains run every 15 minutes from Barcelona to Sitges, and it is not necessary to purchase tickets in advance. There are kiosks inside the train station where tickets can easily be purchased with credit card (you can also change the kiosk language to English when purchasing tickets).
