Forever & Always

I had been on dating apps before but found them boring. I was so close to deleting OkCupid for good when Kat messaged me out of the blue. She immediately compliment me. I think about my eyes or something cheesy and romantic like that. I had a hard time believing she was real. I thought she was a catfish! If you know me, you know I am fbi level detective when it comes to online social media presence. I couldn’t find anything on her at all! No facebook or instagram or anything. I’d seen countless episodes of dateline! So I knew of the danger! But sorry Mom and Dad, I went to meet her anyways... We had dinner where we talked like we’d know each other for years; about anything and everything. After dinner, she took me to see the movie “Escape Room”. During one of the scary parts, she reached over the arm rest to hold my hand and didn’t let go until the credits rolled. When she drove me back home (again, sorry Mom and Dad! She knew where I lived since the very first day!!) I knew I’d be thinking about her and waiting until we could see each other again. Eventually I told my parents about her. Showed her off to my family. And we’ve been together ever since. I think back to the beginning of our relationship. About how lucky am I to have found my other half online! Among the millions and millions of people, we found each other!! Kat, I love you—and I can’t wait to marry you in front of all our family and friends. You mean everything to me.

I moved to Texas in September of 2018 to get a fresh start. A couple months later I decided to download a dating app called OkCupid and that same day I found Dani, and as cheesy as it sounds I just knew I needed to know her. I sent the first message, saying something along the lines of how beautiful she is and her eyes (which are still my favorite, she’s my chocolate chip eyed love). We messaged back and forth for a couple weeks and scheduled our first date! We went to a restaurant called Cheddars, somewhere I had never been to before, and the conversation was so natural. We went to the movies afterwards and honestly I can’t even tell you what really happens in it because I just wanted to hold her hand the whole time, and for some reason I was so nervous.. The rest of that week I think we spent almost every night together, and have been inseparable ever since. It’s crazy to think that in October this will be almost 7 years ago. I count my lucky stars that we found each other and that we will get to spend the rest of our lives together too.
