Some love stories begin slowly—but ours started in a single moment. On May 27th, in a crowded room, our worlds collided in the most unexpected way. Jacob was visiting California for the very first time with a college teammate, and I was simply out with a group of my friends. Neither of us knowing that night would change everything. When Jacob walked up to me, in that moment I remember feeling not nervous but intrigued by every word he had to say. We danced all night and laughed like we had only ever done before with our childhood friends. It felt right, and like home. For the next 2 years, our story became one of distance, patience, and unwavering commitment with facing long distanced head first. We’ve spent countless nights on FaceTime, fallen asleep on the phone, and booked red-eye flights just to steal moments together. No amount of miles has ever been enough to keep us apart. Looking back, it’s impossible not to feel like something greater was at work. When we were both feeling lost and lonely, God brought us to the exact same place, at the exact same time, on that dance floor. What felt like chance was really purpose. Our relationship would be nothing if we didn't have God in the center, and will forever place him in the center. And now, here we are—no longer two strangers in a crowded room, but two people who found forever in each other.
