FAQs

Question

Open Bar/Cash Bar?

Answer

Open Bar for the wedding! Cash Bar for the welcome dinner. We invite everyone to dine with us for the welcome dinner. We will provide a full menu for you to enjoy, but drinks will be available as a cash bar for the evening. For the wedding reception, we will have an open bar to ensure everyone dances their best!

Question

How do I book my accommodation?

Answer

Castle Leslie Estate will be the sole venue for our welcome dinner, ceremony, and reception. There is a wedding the day before our wedding, so rooms may be full at the Lodge if you're hoping to stay there Saturday night for the welcome dinner. However, there are some wonderful hotels in Glaslough—about 10 minutes from the venue. For the night of the wedding, guests are pre-booked into the Castle. Please RSVP on this website at your earliest convenience. You won't be able to book the wedding night until late spring/early summer after we provide the first round of names to Castle Leslie. Rest assured, we have the entire castle reserved for our wedding party, so there there will be room for everyone on Sunday night. The cost is approximately $340 per room, and you may either pay after you book in early summer or upon checkout. Please call +353 47 88100 or reservations@castleleslie.com for reservations. The staff at Castle Leslie are extremely helpful, so please reach out to them if you have any questions about your stay.

Question

Do I need a visa to travel to Ireland from the United States?

Answer

No, you do not need to apply for a visa to travel to Ireland. You will only need a valid passport. However, if you fly into Belfast in Northern Ireland, or if you plan to travel to England, Wales, or Scotland (together they make up the United Kingdom), you'll need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). It's simple to apply and costs around $20: Apply for an ETA here: https://www.gov.uk/eta/apply

Question

Will the ceremony be outside?

Answer

No! Irish weather can be temperamental in October. We didn’t want to take a chance with the rain.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, you can. When RSVPing, please make a note.

Question

If I can't attend the wedding, how can I celebrate the couple?

Answer

We understand that, due to the nature of the destination, not everyone will be able to attend. If you would like to send a well-wish, you can find our registry on the “Registry” tab.

Question

I see on Castle Leslie Estate's website that they have different options for accommodations. Can you explain them?

Answer

As the name suggests, this is an estate with multiple properties. The main house is called the Lodge, and it has 50 guestrooms. It also features two restaurants and a spa. The Old Stable Mews offers a more private escape, with two bedrooms and a kitchen in each unit. The Castle is only available for private hire. With 20 unique guestrooms, this is where wedding guests will stay on the night of the wedding. All accommodations are within walking distance from each other. They also have a shuttle if needed.

Question

Are there any restrictions for the Castle?

Answer

Castle Leslie is protected as a historic site and prohibits the use of confetti. A fine will be added to a guest’s bill if confetti is thrown, so please leave any at home.

Question
