Cameron and Danielle met each other in 2008 at Lake Gibson Middle School. We shared two classes together and became friends when my best friend, Makayla, started dating his cousin, Kyle. Naturally as eleven year olds, our friendship was filled with laughter, copying my schoolwork, awkward flirting, teasing, and yes maybe a few kicks to the family jewels. Over the summer, Makayla and Kyle naturally decided that Cameron and I should start dating too. We could be a double dating squad! So we agreed to it on a late night phone call with them as our audience. Surprise... it lasted 6 days and ended with a break up text from Cameron (he was quite fond of those). This was the beginning of a fun journey of dating and breaking up throughout school (Kyle counted it to like 16 times). After moving to Palm Harbor to live with my dad, we tried to make a long distance relationship work. It lasted a little while with hundreds of facetime calls on our iPods, but it became too complicated and we ended it. We both went our separate ways, but remained friends.
About four years later, Danielle was scrolling through facebook one day when she saw Cameron pop up as a recommended friend and decided to send him a friend request. I waited about 2 days and after not getting any message after he accepted it, I decided to put on my big girl panties and send one myself. I think it was pretty awkward and something along the lines of "hey there, stranger. Long time no see." (Smooth right?) He messaged back that same day and we were soon talking like the four years of being strangers never happened. We went on a few dates where he definitely pulled out his best to try to woo me. I'm talking candlelit dinners, wine, snuggling by the fire in the cold, dancing bare feet outside to love songs, ordering ice cream at 3AM. After moving back to my hometown to live with my grandmother, we truly became inseparable. What was once an immature boy and girl teasing each other turned into a man and a woman enjoying their life together.
After a year of dating, we decided to make the next step to move into our own apartment. We truly started to become one as we cooked together, watched TV shows together, ate together, cleaned together, and almost anything else you can think of. We were so happy with our life together that included our two cats. Setting up our first Christmas is a memory i'll never forget. Honestly you should've seen us strap a 6FT tree to the roof of my small car! As the year went by, our love only strengthened. Then on March 20th of 2019, the love of my life finally asked me to marry him and the answer was a no brainer, yes. Then on April 11th, I took a test that blessed us with the love of OUR life. I was pregnant with our son, Ashton.
We postponed our wedding planning and started planning for our bean (this is what we called Ashton before we knew the gender). Every swoosh and kick was magical. The little boy playing in front of my today was worth every 9 months that i carried that 8lb15oz baby!! Once he arrived in this world on December 17th of 2019. We began the wedding process. The day I tried my dress on is what truly made it real. All I can think of is walking down that isle to see my beautiful family waiting for me.
