Wake-up is great for coffee or a quick grab and go breakfast! It is the perfect destination on a bike, golf cart, or walk.
If you need a good, greasy, Waffle House-esque breakfast, this is the spot!
Gnat's is one of our favorites! A favorite of the Groom's family since childhood and the Bride's favorite college eats! We would love it if y'all stopped by for a drink (Dani's favorite- a margarita; Wades' favorite-- a) and enjoyed their patio. Gnat's is also in the middle of Redfern Village, home to some of the best shopping on the island.
Driftwood Beach is a short drive over to Jekyll Island. As the name suggests, it is basically one giant, beautiful, driftwood jungle-gym. If you want to make sure your feet touch sand while you're in town, this is the coolest option by far.
A new recommendation from Aunt Terri and Uncle Bill. We've been once and it was killer. Steak was great and the Pho is spicy. Also a very "grammable" aesthetic for those of you that are into that kind of thing.
If you're looking to kill time, shop, or just walk around, the village is "town center" for SSI. Check out folks fishing on the pier (or do it yourself), tour the lighthouse, or grab a drink and bite to eat at one of the many restaurants (we recommend Half Shell if you like oysters).
Ol' reliable and a St. Simons staple. Wade has been eating here since mom and dad still packed Cheerios to the restaurant. Only caveat is you better block out some time, because everyone knows how solid the seafood is and they do not take reservations!
There are quite a few historical sites around the island from colonial times, but our favorite is Fort Frederica. We actually took many of our engagement photos here (until Dani got us kicked out for trying to stand on the old cannons...I kid). And the best part is, it's free! Just be prepared to do some walking.
