Things To Do

If you're coming to town a few days before the wedding, we recommend spending some time in NYC - from the incredible food scene to the theater district to any of the famous buildings and sites, there are plenty of things to do there. Once you head to NJ, things slow down (and so do the activity options), but if you're looking for a little pre-wedding adventure on Saturday morning, we've rounded up a few local gems to explore.
The Deserted Village of Feltville and Enchanted Forest

The Deserted Village of Feltville and Enchanted Forest

9 Cataract Hollow Road, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922

There is a place deep in the woods of the Watchung Reservation area in Union County that is officially known as the Feltville Historic District. Here, down a narrow winding road that leads into the forest of the town of Berkeley Heights you will find a cluster of houses dating back to the mid-19th century, several of which are now long abandoned. The site is known locally as the “Deserted Village,” and he has a many–storied history of promise, failure and even hauntings. There is a roughly 1 mile self-guided walking tour through the area. Entry is free. ~10 minute drive from the hotel.

Duke Farms

Duke Farms

1112 Dukes Parkway West, Hillsborough Township, NJ 08844

An historic estate offering natural habitats gardens, and outdoor activities. ~30 minute drive from the hotel.

Essex County Turtle Back Zoo

560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, NJ 07052

The zoo features wild animal exhibits, a petting zoo, carousel, and mini train. ~30 minute drive from the hotel.

For all the days along the way
