The Golden Farm is a 15 acre area of land on a quiet dirt road outside of Silverton, OR. Dane's Mother and Stepfather purchased this property, complete with almost 100 year-old farmhouse, in Silverton in 2010. It is a "farm" in the way that it was once was used for agriculture but mostly is being restored to cultivated forest land. Come explore the family property including Frank's hobby vineyard, our 60' X 90' flower and vegetable garden, mini orchard scenic treehouse and beautiful views of the Willamette valley!
Oh boy... We're glad you asked! We're hoping to have a wide array of games, activities and entertainment. We're still working out the details but some of our ideas include: DJ dance sets all day, all night. Fire dancing, tea/mediation lounge, a yoga class, cornhole, disc golf baskets, art station, costume swap, talent show, possible bonfire... and more! This is a community event, we would love our friends to bring and share thier talents to make this campout memorable! Please reach out to us with your ideas!
Yes! Children are an integral part of our lives and community! We are planning to have plenty of games and activities to keep the kiddos having a wonderful time!
Yes! Have a special someone? Wanna bring your kiddo? No problem. Inevitably we will have missed some invites or not be up-to-date on who you're dating. Two Requests: -Please bring only someone that you know well! We would prefer if you didn't bring someone you met last week. -Please give us a heads up if you're bringing someone! This will let us update our head count so we can plan accurately for food and drinks.
Alas, The Golden Farm is not a fenced property and there are several other dogs, livestock and wildlife in the area. It is for the safety of guests, children, your pets, our pets and the various critters that visit our property that we ask you not to bring your dog. If you absolutely, must, must bring your pet friend please reach out to Nikki or Dane to talk about it.
So there is quite a lot of space on The Farm, just not infinite space. Parking will be first-come-first-serve. We will have attendants who will show you where to go. AWD and 4WD vehicles are welcome to drive down into the forest or field to camp with their vehicles. Just know your vehicles limitations and try not to get stuck. We also have access to overflow parking that is about a three minute drive away and are looking to arrange shuttle services back and forth. If you have a care full of stuff and/or people, you can drop it/them off and then park at overflow. Lastly, we're big fans of carpooling if you can!
The Golden Farm is 15 acres, residing on a tree farm that has been left to grow. You are welcome to pitch a tent pretty much anywhere amongst the trees or under the open sky! When you arrive, someone will give you an idea of good places to park. It's worth bearing in mind that events may be going quite late/early so consider your sound needs when selecting how close you want to be.
Nope! Come for the day, the ceremony or even just for a few hours! We'd love to have you the whole time but we totally understand that people are busy!
Probably not. Campers are being asked to park down the hill in the trees and will not be able to reach power.
We will be renting port-o-potties for the weekend that should accommodate everyone. There is also a plumbed bathroom in the shed that everyone can access. Also, you are always welcome to "water the trees" as you see fit.
Yes, maybe, kinda? There is a shower on the property that you will have access to. However, water for The Farm is spring fed and if everyone takes luxurious showers, the whole property may run out of water for a bit. So if you simply muuusst shower, we ask that you use the water very sparingly.
There will be a bar area that Nikki and Dane will stock with a wide array of beer, wine liquor and mixers! Everyone is invited to partake, though we will not be providing a bartender. There will also be coolers full of all manner of beverages: Seltzers, sodas, kombucha, etc. However, this event may end up being pretty big and it's entirely possible we may run out of things. We encourage people to BYOB or bring some extra beverages to restock the bar. Lastly, part of why we've made this event a campout is so that people can enjoy the festivities without feeling the need to drive home. So if you choose to drink, please do so responsibly. Be kind, stay cogent, don't get wasted and make a scene. Yeah, Dane can provide medical care, but he's off duty for the weekend, you wouldn't want to make him take care of you, would you?
Yes! Here's the breakdown of planned meals: Saturday Brunch: Breakfast burritos, coffee and fruit. Come early, set up your spot, enjoy a burrito! Saturday Lunch: No specific meal provided but we will have snacks and beverages available and probably plenty of leftovers. If you are feel extra hungry and snacks ain't gonna cut it, Silverton has a plethora of great places just a few minutes down the road. Saturday Evening: Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup, en masse. This what Dane and Nikki had on their first date. There be a camp kitchen space if you want to come cook something different for yourself. Sunday Morning: Leftovers! We have made 230 frozen burritos for this event and it seems unlikely we will finish them. Round two of burritos, more fruit, coffee, whatever we can put out. Heck, have another grilled cheese if you want! There will also be snacks around and I'm sure you'll be able to find something at any hour. There is rumors of Ice Cream as well. Also, we will need a few people to help prep and cook the Saturday evening meal and help heat things up Sunday morning. Let us know if you'd be willing to volunteer!
Accessible parking for non AWD vehicles is limited and we need to save space for them. Large/long RV's can not fit at the property easily but could be parked at the church down the road. Smaller Vehicles that are AWD would work best to camp in the camping area, plenty of space to park in the 15 acres.
Yeah, yeah... I know. This was a lot of info... congratulations if you made it to the bottom. Gold Star.
