Their story began on a Friday night when Kennedy and her dad went out to eat at a restaurant called Cousins in Lake Charles. Dane happened to be working there at the time. While Kennedy’s dad was in the back talking with the owner (who he knew well), he randomly stopped Dane—having no idea who he was—and asked if George was a good boss, explaining that Kennedy was looking for a new job. Without hesitation, Dane said yes, hoping Kennedy would come work there so he could get to know her. About two weeks later, Kennedy started working at Cousins, and from the very beginning, the two began talking nonstop. Dane cleverly asked for Kennedy’s phone number “for the work group chat,” and from that moment on, they talked every day. Not long after, they started hanging out, and everything felt effortless and right. Dane continued trying to impress Kennedy by telling silly stories at work—including how he “won state” in a free throw competition…back in junior high. She eventually found out the truth, but she somehow still stuck around. Before long, they began dating and quickly became inseparable. Six years later, they’ve continued to fall even more in love. They’ve been through hard times and good times, survived a hurricane and long distance, started their careers together, and even bought their first home. Looking back, it’s clear that their story was unfolding exactly as it was meant to—proof that some things are simply meant to be. Through every season, they’ve grown not only as a couple but as best friends—supporting one another, laughing through the little moments, and choosing each other every day. They can’t imagine life without one another. On May 13th, Dane decided Kennedy had waited long enough and proposed privately with a beautiful video telling their love story. It was perfect—simple, meaningful, and completely them. They can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of their forever surrounded by the people they love most.
