Dane and I met online, on an app called “Coffee Meets Bagel.” We met on a Monday night at 8:00 pm. Dane was busy with work and almost canceled. We had a great time but the date ended upbruptly after an hour when Dane announced he had to go back to work. I knew that day that he was the one. Dane thought it was going to be a bit more casual, but boy was he wrong.
Dane told me to dress warm because he was going to give me my Christmas present and it was outside. We headed north. I did not think anything of this because Dane is great at planning dates and adventures. We arrived at Sleeping Bear Dunes, where on our first vacation together in 2016, we did a long hike out to the lake. I thought the hike was going to kill me. He reminded me of that day as we climbed the dune again. He pulled out a blanket and asked me to sit down. He then pulled out his phone and headphones and gave them to me. He even got angry at his phone for good measure, since the volume was not working properly. He then played me a video he made with photos and music from our life together. He then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I of course said YES and began to hypervenilate from excitement. He had the ring custom made. It is perfect.
