It all started online when we made a perfect match on Hinge. Our first date was at the cozy Nina's Cafe in St. Paul, where we discovered an instant connection and, more importantly, a shared path grounded in faith and purpose. Life's been a great adventure ever since. We’ve done everything from training for and completing a marathon, to happily trying to find the best coffee shop in the Twin Cities. We've supported each other through job transitions and have logged plenty of miles exploring the great outdoors. The best part of our journey is that we continue to grow and challenge each other in our faith. That shared foundation is the most important part of our relationship, and it’s what we lean on as we step into our future together.
Dalton's perspective: If you know Hannah, you know she is an incredible planner. She is prepared for just about anything, down to the last detail. When I decided I wanted to propose, I started hatching a plan that would become our perfect moment. Hannah and I both love historic architecture and enjoy walking through old neighborhoods to admire houses. So I thought, what better place than one of these historic homes? After some research, I found a few options and Semple Mansion stood out. Built in 1899 and just ten minutes away, it was the perfect spot. I called Katherine, who oversees operations at the mansion, shared my idea of the proposal, and she helped me book a private tour. Getting Hannah to a specific location, at a specific time, dressed up, without arousing suspicion was tricky. On the way to the mansion, what I described as a “cool tour before dinner,” I could feel her anticipation, and I had a sneaking suspicion she might know what was coming. We arrived and were greeted with a “rushed” tour because Katherine needed to finish some “last-minute things” for another guest. Don’t worry, that was all part of the plan. We walked up to the ballroom on the top floor, where a bottle of champagne, two glasses, and the perfect spot awaited, the place where I would ask the girl I love to be my wife. Now, we’re planning our wedding and could not be more excited to share our lives together with all of you. Thank you for being such integral parts of our lives and we are super excited to celebrate with you in August! Hannah's Perspective: From early on in our relationship, marriage was something we talked about openly. Over time, those conversations grew into more concrete dreams of what our future could look like. One day, I even showed Dalton a mansion I’d come across online and mentioned that it might be the perfect wedding venue. He smiled, said he had heard of it, and agreed. A few weeks later, during our one-year anniversary dinner, Dalton casually suggested that I take a half day off work the following week. He had arranged a tour of that very place: Semple Mansion. When the day arrived, the mansion was every bit as stunning as I had imagined. As our guide led us through the rooms, she seemed to move us along a little more quickly than expected, and I started to wonder if there was something more to this tour than I realized. Eventually, she guided us up the grand staircase to the second-floor ballroom and asked us to step inside and wait while she checked on another guest. Dalton took my hand and led me through the doors. In the center of the ballroom was a cozy picnic setup: a blanket surrounded by white vases filled with baby’s breath and a basket holding a bottle of champagne. Dalton got down on one knee and shared a heartfelt speech before asking the question I had been waiting for: “Will you marry me?” Even though we had talked about this moment for so long, I was completely overwhelmed. I couldn’t get much out beyond a breathless nod and the quietest “yes” I could manage. Just as we began to take it all in, my close friend Shiri appeared from behind a pillar, camera in hand, calling out her congratulations. Moments later, the tour guide returned with two glasses of champagne. Since we were only two weeks away from running a marathon, we only took a sip, but it was the perfect toast. We had the mansion to ourselves for the rest of the afternoon, taking photos and soaking in every moment. Those photos and that afternoon are memories we will cherish forever. Dalton planned everything with so much care and love, and saying yes to him was the easiest, most joyful decision of my life. I cannot wait to be his wife.
After much reflection, we decided to celebrate our commitment with an intimate elopement in Prague, Czech Republic. This city holds significance for us, as our family histories both trace back to the Czech Republic. We feel a profound sense of connection and peace in European town squares, places that serve as the heart of a community. Given this shared appreciation, we could think of no more fitting or breathtaking spot than Prague's Old Town Square, one of the grandest and most historic town centers in the world to say 'I do.' We look forward to celebrating with you at our reception August 21, 2026.
