We can't wait for all of you to come out and celebrate our love with you. It will mean so much to us to have each of you there on our big day. So get ready to eat some great food, drink some tasty beverages, and dance until we can't dance anymore!
Krista and Kyle both grew up on opposite sides of the Illinois river, and a simple twist of fate led them together. Not online searching, at school, or work, but they just met in person at a mutual friends house (thank you Chris and Jenny). Kyle was over having band practice with Chris, and Krista was coming to hang out with Jenny and go out for drinks. The very next day Kyle asked Jenny for Krista's number, and they talked to each other every day after that. They had their first date at Blue Duck in Peoria, IL. Where he thought it was hilarious she was ready to tie her hair back and eat some messy barbeque. Shortly after on March 21st, 2016 he asked her to be his girlfriend and she didn't hesitate one bit to say yes. They moved in to their first apartment together in October 2017 in Peoria, following into their first house in September of 2020. There you'll find them cooking up something delicious every night they can, watching scary movies (maybe on VHS), or getting ready to go see live music together. They're so excited to let their love continuously grow stronger every day since the first day they met!
If you know Krista and her family, you know they love to go camping! Every year they (try to) go camping on Labor Day weekend at Huzzah Valley Resort in Steelville, Missouri. This past labor day weekend in 2019 was going to be Kyle's first time at Huzzah and on a float trip! Especially important. The most people that had been there in a very long time were also coming to honor the life of a loved one that had passed away earlier in the year. It was Krista's whole family and a lot of friends for a weekend of floating on the river and camping. On the very last night of the trip after coming back to the campsite from a long day of kayaking, Kyle gathered everyone around as he stood up on a picnic table. He gave a speech to everyone about his love for Krista, then climbed down off the picnic table on to one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes, of course! Everyone cheered so loud and some shed a couple tears. It was a night to never forget!
