We are really looking forward to having our friends & family come together to celebrate us getting married. It means so much to the both of us & is not taken lightly as we know how much time & effort goes into attending an event out of town. Ideally this site will answer any & all of your questions regarding our wedding but please reach out to either of us if you have any other questions or concerns. We hope you can join us for the festivities!
Nick had been working for my Uncle Mike in Red Bluff & I was working night shift at Stanford in the Bay Area. We were about 4 hours away from each other, just trying to make ends meet & get ourselves to the next step in life. I was able to see him like once every month or so & while it was definitely not ideal, we were just doing what we had to for the time being (story of our lives, am I right?). I’d known I was going to marry him for quite some time & we talked about it often but with the way things were going, I had a feeling it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon & we were okay with that, or so I thought. Nick decided to come “home” to the RV in Half Moon Bay one weekend & we decided to go for a walk along the beach. Well our luck, it was raining pretty hard so we ended up just grabbing drinks at a cute little place along the coast & on the way there I had pointed out a lighthouse I wanted to stop by on our way back to town. Once we were at the lighthouse Benji, Nick & I get out of the car & I was very intensely staring at the ocean because I had been seeing whales quite frequently & I had a strong feeling I would see more while we were there. He starts talking about how much he loves me & how excited he is for our future & the life we’re building together. I basically say “yea yea, I’m excited too” & continue to look for whales while he puts his arm around me & we just stand there staring at the ocean together. All of a sudden he gets on one knee & pulls a dang ring out of his pocket. I whole heartedly thought he was pranking me & I’m pretty positive we both blacked out from nerves. I of course said yes & behind us I saw whales spouting as if they had been waiting to say “congratulations”. I had previously told Nick the only thing I cared about for the proposal was it not being in front of a lot of people (social anxiety, ya know). It was just the three of us, the whales & the ocean & I couldn’t have imagined anything more perfect.
We met as friends of friends running into each other at parties, camping trips & concerts. Eventually we ended up being roommates & then turned into friends that flew to see each other in different states when Nick moved to Texas. After some twists & turns of life, & with a little liquid courage we confessed our love to each other at a concert & have never looked back. From Reno, to Oroville to Half Moon Bay, to Paradise to who knows where to next, we both decided to jump in feet first & fell head over heels.
