We're getting married anyway!

Michael & Brandi met through a mutual friend, when she hosted a hot tub party on a Tuesday night in June 2010. They liked each other so much that they convinced this friend to host another hot tub party the very next night so they could see each other again. Fortunately, Michael was hosting a summer solstice party on Saturday night of that week, so they got to spend more time together right away. Later that week, Michael invited Brandi to join him on a hike through the Ape Cave Lava Tube in Washington - which is a mile-long, completely-dark lava tube that you hike through. Michael brought homemade Hawaiian food that they ate together out of the back of his Saab station wagon. And they’ve been pretty inseparable ever since. Over the last 9+ years, Brandi and Michael have been through a lot together – growing a loving relationship, building a strong community of friends and family, putting Michael through school and a career change, raising Wookie Bear, managing the growth of PHFS, buying a house, and traveling the world together. In May 2019, Brandi and Michael went to Maui, Hawaii for a much-needed getaway. On May 26, nearly nine years after they started their relationship, Michael and Brandi went to see the sun rise at Haleakala National Park. After watching the most beautiful sunrise, they went on a hike down into the crater of the volcano. Michael stopped Brandi after just a quarter of a mile, got down on one knee, and asked him to marry her. Of course she said yes. For our wedding, we want to go on vacation with our whole community in Silverton, Oregon, just an hour away from Portland. We have a whole weekend of wedding festivities planned - touring the beautiful Oregon Garden, pool parties, brunch, happy hours, live music, dance parties, hobbit holes, playgrounds, and so much more.
