How We Met

In early November 2016, Dana decided to try some new churches around town starting with a Lutheran church. She looked up the closest Lutheran church to her apartment and decided to attend the Jazz service that Sunday. Dana just happened to sit next to the loveliest of ladies that day, Carol Swisher. Having found out that Dana was a first-timer Carol kindly showed Dana around the church and introduced her to people she knew. Dana and David met that day. Dana continued to attend the Lutheran church over the next few months and David made it a point to walk up and talk to Dana whenever he saw her there. Eventually, they even began to sit together and have been doing so every Sunday since.

Growing our Family (with a Puppy!)

November 13, 2017

David had been itching to adopt a dog for a couple years, and he'd gone to a shelter or two, and Dana had come with him a few times more. They fostered a dog overnight (which involved front door trim as Violet tried to escape). While walking to dinner one evening from Dana's apartment, they stopped by the Atlanta Humane Society. A couple hours later, a Sato named Millie had joined the family. (Satos are Puerto Rican mutts, who are rescued to the mainland.) She was the right mix of chill and energetic, slept through the first night, and loves going on long walks or lounging at breweries. She loved "managing" us while we worked from home, but had a tendency to sleep on the job. And Dana's still waiting for that dinner.

Popping the Question

December 8, 2019

Twas the Second Sunday in Advent, Two Thousand Nineteen, Not a creature was stirring, not even a Millie. The nativity was placed first, and with great care, The outside lights hung, the bushes aglow. In November to Asheville, our travelers went, Breweries visited, a glassblower too. An ornament picked, engraved with the date, The inside was festive, the fireplace lit. An extra ornament hidden, with extra sparkle, Through the boxes he dug. "What are you looking for?", she asked. "This" he replied, holding that ornament, "Will you marry me?" he asked. The shock, it wore off, A yes was secured, Champagne was opened, and engaged they then were.
