We spent the day reliving our first date that was 3 years prior. After finishing our date, Dan brought me to his house which he and his family had decorated. They set up a timeline with photos of important days that Dan and I walked through reminiscing about those wonderful moments we had captured along the years. The last date on the timeline, which was hung by the backyard doorway, was that day's date. Dan brought me outside to see lights hung up off of the deck that led to a beautifully designed backdrop. He brought me down the stairs and asked if I would spend the rest of my life with him, and of course, I said yes.

It all started 5 years ago when we became best friends through our church's youth group. After being close friends for years, we felt like we would be a great pair so we prayed about dating, talked to our mentors, and started our journey as a couple. Since then we've experienced 1,000-mile long-distance, many adventures, and a lot of learning about the sacrificial love of Jesus. We're so grateful for every season of life we've been privileged to walk together in and we are beyond excited to walk into the next season as one.
