We're Married!

Dan and Talia met through a mutual friend one night back in September, 5 years ago. From there, Dan and Talia were acquaintances and didn’t begin dating until months later. It all began when Dan commented on Talia’s Facebook picture and from then, they began messaging and eventually exchanged phone numbers. After talking for a couple of days, they hung out and have been inseparable since. Talia made things “official” on Valentine's Day and asked Dan if she was his girlfriend. Dan didn't like stereotypes especially on Valentine's Day but accepted her request and made their relationship official. Now he debates if their anniversary is really on Valentine's Day.

Since the day Dan met Talia he knew she hated surprises. She has an uncanny ability to guess what any surprise could be. Dan knew he had to make the proposal completely secret and spur of the moment. On July 15, 2017 Talia went to the Coeur d'Alene Casino in Worley, Idaho for a massage with a couple of her NAWIC girlfriends. While she was there Dan called her and asked for her father's phone number. He told her that his dad needed it so that they could coordinate a turkey hunting trip together. After 4.5 years together, this excuse didn't raise any red flags to her. Unbeknownst to Talia, Dan had been out running errands all day to make the proposal perfect. They had already made plans to go to dinner but of course Talia's uncanny ability took over and she knew they were going to her favorite steakhouse in Coeur d'Alene. Man was she in for a huge surprise! When they arrived, Talia didn't know but Dan had already been there with a huge bouquet of flowers and their favorite bottle of wine. The whole evening Talia was on edge just waiting for him to pop the question BUT HE NEVER DID. As they started to head home Dan asked Talia to go look at the stars with him. They drove around to different areas to find the right spot, but couldn't find the perfect location. Finally they found a spot not far from their apartment, parked their truck and waited for the stars. While they waited Dan suggested they take a picture. Both of them got out of the truck, set up the camera and waited. Dan didn't let Talia in on a little secret and instead of setting the camera for a picture he hit the record button and captured the entire proposal. While the video was rolling, Dan pulled the ring out of his pocket and proposed. Despite his plan of having Talia’s reaction on camera, he didn't expect her to curse like a sailor! But, the most important part was that she said yes and they were now engaged after 4.5 years of being together.
