Our love story is a true testimony of God meeting you exactly where you are in life to remind you of His plans. A young 21 year old and a 24 year old single dad embarked on the woes of our fast-paced generation's solution to dating: Tinder. With absolutely no intention of finding love (is anybody on Tinder?), we very quickly went from fun to love in...2 weeks! Yes, in just a span of 2 weeks, a guy "not looking for anything serious" professed his love to a girl "not ready for a serious relationship" and we have never looked back since. We love our story because we may not have known what we would find as we were swiping right...but God sure did and not only brought us together, but brought us closer to His love. Our biggest hope and prayer is for our relationship to be a witness to God's unfailing and redeeming love.
Our proposal took place at one of my favorite places in the entire world: Disneyland! Daniel and I had been talking about getting married for quite some time, so I was already suspecting he would be proposing soon. He had already had the ring for weeks and knew he wanted to propose while we were celebrating our 1 year anniversary at Disneyland. He just needed some help with picking the perfect place, so he went to my lifelong Disney partners, my brother and sister. They suggested one of my absolute favorite places in all the Disney parks: the Animation building in Disney's California Adventures. It is a large room with panoramic screens playing beautiful clips, concept art, and storyboard drawings from the best Disney movies along with Disney songs. My siblings suggested Dan propose during my favorite part: the Tangled lantern scene! My brother was able to use his cast member connections to help Dan know when Tangled would start. As soon as the Tangled scene started, Dan's posture immediately changed and started his prepared speech, and in that instant I knew he was proposing! Which of course meant waiting for him to frantically dig for the ring he thought he had placed nicely on top of his bag felt like forever! By the time he got down on one knee and asked me, I was just too ready to kiss him that I didn't remember if I had said yes or not and forgot to have him put the ring on me. I, of course, said yes, he put my dream engagement ring on my finger, and we spent the evening taking pictures, calling family, and celebrating with my siblings and best friend. We are so grateful for my brother for making this possible and for my sister and best friend helping with capturing our special moment!
