Sophia's grandparents live in Skaneateles and so she grew up spending many summer days on the beautiful lake and in the village. She also spent 7 years working at Vermont Green Mountain as a barista. This is the quintessential fingerlakes town and we highly encourage you to check out some of our favorite spots! Vermont Green Mountain Coffee- Stop in to see owner Kay Dinardo (and probably at least one or two of Sophia's cousins working) The Bakery- Sophia's sisters work here during the summer. Stop by for lunch (we recommend the smoked turkey and avocado sandwich on their homemade bread) Bluewater Grill- The grilled scallop salad is to die for! Doug's Fish Fry- You can't leave without one of their infamous seasonal fruit sundaes Shopping, walking around, enjoying the park and the pier!
You can't come to the Fingerlakes without taking advantage of our incredible wine country! Our lakes create the perfect climate for excuisite white wines. We recommend Seneca Lake in particular (check out Ventosa, Three Brothers, Fox Run, and Belhurst Castle) as well as Cayuga Lake (check out Long Point, Toro Run, and Hosmer) Seneca Lake Wine Trail: https://senecalakewine.com/ Cayuga Lake Wine Trail: https://www.cayugawinetrail.com/
Beak and Skiff is one of the state's most famous apple orchards. If you have extra time, we highly recommend you stop by for some fresh cider and a hot apple fritter. September is the perfect time to visit!
