This is a great place for a quick hike, or for those who aren't looking to take on a lot of up/down. The views at the end are great, and the trail is well marked. Note - exactly 3 parking spots available unless you want to walk up from town!
Camel's Hump is a challenging day hike - great for those who may be coming into town for a few extra days. You can expect a bit of scrambling (aka hands on the ground). Be sure to bring adequate water and snacks! Excellent panoramic views at the bare top of camel's hump!
There is some great hiking to be done on the Mad River Glen ski trails in the summer months. MRG doesn't allow mountain biking like the other local ski areas, so you will have the trails to yourself. Note: the trails are wide because they are cut for skiing, but they are also steep! Great views to be found and some fun loops from one peak to the next via the long trail.
Warren Falls is where it is at for local swimming holes! The water may be quite chilly this early in the season, but if you're up for it, it will surely be worth a visit. Looking for other places to get in the mad river - there are plenty (right in downtown Waitsfield, or near flatbread are some good options!)
Creemee is the Vermont name for soft ice cream. We highly recommend you get a maple one. But really they're all rockin'. The food here is also pretty stellar, but you will have to wait a good bit to get it.
Come here to get your fill of Vermont artisanal cheeses, beers, ciders, butter, maple everything. You can stay in the store and do a tasting on site or take it to go!
Here for a wedding, but also a beer pilgrimage - we get it. Alchemist is just about 45 minutes away by car (it can also be bought locally in Waitsfield).
Another challenging day hike - one of Will and Sarah's every year favs. Hike from Lincoln Gap to App Gap along the long trail and catch amazing views from Mt. Abraham, Sugarbush, Mt. Ellen, and Mad River Glen. Bring plenty of water and food. The trail is narrow and you will have to scramble a bit.
Sunset Ledge is another great moderate hike with excellent views. Definitely more up/down than at wu ledges, but a great option for those looking for 1-1.5 hour excursion.
Lawson's is brewed right in Waitsfield and is a great place to stop in with friends. They have a huge taproom and a great outdoor space with plenty of outdoor patio seating and lawn games!
Ross Daniel will lead a morning Mat Pilates class from 8-9am at the Round Barn on Saturday, June 11. Open to all, BYOMat
Great local farmers market! Runs on Saturday mornings from 9am-1pm. Music, food, tie-dye t-shirts
