The Ceiriog Valley is the beautiful valley that we like to call our home. There are a number of amazing walks available and it is definitely a hidden gem. There are some amazing pubs within the valley including The Hand, the Mulberry and The Swan, all of which are incredibly welcoming, have decent pub grub and are dog friendly.
The Mulberry is our closest pub and we often go there for its Sunday night pub quiz at 9pm. It is a friendly and relaxed pub, serving good ale with good company.
The Hand is our favourite pub in the valley, an award winning restaurant and pub which serves the best Sunday Roast in the area.
Llangollen is a beautiful little town in the Dee Valley with steam train experiences and abundance of water sports on offer.
Chirk Castle is a National Trust property located within Chirk. It has magnificent views and a fascinating history. Dogs are permitted around the grounds however not in the castle itself.
Designed by engineer Thomas Telford, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is an amazing structure and the longest and highest aqueduct in the UK and the highest canal aqueduct ever built. Pedestrians are able to walk along it and canal boats can be hired for the day to traverse it.
If staying anywhere close to Llangollen, The Corn Mill is a central pub that is always reliable for pub food. If the weather is nice, the terrace overlooking the River Dee is a perfect spot for a beer outside watching the white water rafters take on the rapids. The bar area and terrace are dog friendly.
Liberty Tavern is a little wine bar with relaxed atmosphere. It has a tapas style menu and a number of different wines on offer. Liberty wine bar is dog friendly.
