The Proposal

3.1.19

As we walked through Washington Square Park, Daniel stopped us right before the arch, said wonderful, heartwarming, and emotional things about our relationship and ended with a proposal. Before we even made it to the restaurant we decided to elope & therefore, kept the proposal between us.

The Courthouse Wedding

4.5.19

After deciding to elope we then had to decide where. After completing extensive research, we learned that the requirements & process to getting legally married overseas is a massive headache (to put it kindly). Therefore, we decided to get legally married in the NYC courthouse. On a Friday morning, we were joined by Dan’s brother, John, and my best friend & business partner, Sam, to legally declare our commitment to one another. The day after we were legally married, we made several calls near & far to share the news with parents & siblings, which thankfully, were overjoyed & supportive of our decision.

Eloping In France

5.13.19

Why Nice, France? Selecting a location came down to three items for us, our love for travel, exploring countries we’ve never been to, and a jaw-dropping location. Since neither of us had been to France, it was easy to then select the French Riviera for our private ceremony. After hours of research, we selected a medieval town, Ezé, on a small, private balcony in The Château Eza. While I naturally took the lead on the logistics, Dan added romantic touches by suggesting we read Bob Dylan’s Wedding Day to one another during the ceremony and creating the perfect playlist for the entire day. One of our favorite parts of the ceremony was the Blending of the Families, which we did by combining Scottish Bourbon and Irish Whiskey together and each taking a sip…and then realizing it was delicious and finishing the glass! Another favorite moment was when we lit candles in remembrance of those family members that aren’t with us anymore. To take a line from our officiant, they actually had a front-row seat to our wedding.
